We collect, use and are responsible for certain personal information about you. When we do so we are regulated under the General Data protection Regulations which apply across the European Union (including the United Kingdom) and we are responsible of that personal information for the purposes of those laws.

To contact you about events and information relating to beekeeping this will be by email, text and sometimes letter.

We will collect your name address and contact details as soon as you supply them in the membership year (1 January to 31 December). We collect these details on the membership form so that you can become a member of Hagley & Stourbridge Beekeepers’

How long your personal information will be kept

We will hold your personal information for the following periods:

Your contact details are retained for a maximum period of three years after membership expiry to enable us to track membership trends. During the Membership Year you may be regularly contacted by us about all manner of things bee related and up to the 31 March in the following Membership Year to encourage you to renew your membership.

These periods are no longer than necessary in each case.

To run an effective support network for beekeepers and encourage an atmosphere of enjoyment and learning surrounding the craft of beekeeping.

We will email and send letters to you about bee related events and information.

We have appropriate security measures in place to prevent personal information from being accidentally lost or used or accessed in an unauthorised way. Those processing your information will do so only in an authorised manner and are subject to a duty of confidentiality.

If your membership details are stored on a computer it is protected by a password. In the case of the mass mailer we use access is controlled by a unique username and password; all data is stored on secure servers using SSL.

We also have procedures in place to deal with any suspected data security breach. We will notify you and any applicable regulator of a suspected data security breach where we are legally required to do so.

Indeed, while we will use all reasonable efforts to secure your personal data, in using the site you acknowledge that the use of the internet is not entirely secure and for this reason we cannot guarantee the security or integrity of any personal data that are transferred from you or to you via the internet.
